Stocktake Batch - File - Post to Existing

Use this option if you have created a master stocktake batch and a number of smaller batches to be consolidated into the master batch for processing (refer to "Creating a New Stocktake Batch"). You should do this after you have entered the actual stockdate count quantities into the individual stocktake batches.

You can also use it to post a stocktake batch that was created on a PDA into a master batch.

Warning

Before you begin this procedure, it is essential that there is only one master stocktake batch in Micronet – that is, only one batch should have a Stocktake Method that is anything other than Add to Existing. If old batches have been saved in Micronet, it is possible that the count details will be posted into the wrong master batch. If this happens, your stock count will be lost and you will have to enter it again.

To add a smaller stocktake batch into the master stocktake batch:

  1. Display the Stocktake Batch screen for the smaller stocktake batch.

Refer to "Recalling a Stocktake Batch".

  1. Select FILE | POST TO EXISTING.

Micronet posts the stocktake count details from the smaller batch into the master batch and deletes the smaller batch.

  1. Repeat this process to add any remaining smaller batches into the master batch.

Technical Tip

When posting a stocktake batch that was created on a PDA to the master batch, and where the batch contains serialised items, Micronet checks whether the same serial/bin combination already exists in the master batch. I it does, it merges the new entry with the existing one. The quantity for the serialised item is updated but the cost remains unchanged.

If a serial/bin combination does not already exist in the master batch, Micronet adds a new entry to the batch and updates the cost with the average cost from the item or from the warehouse (if warehouse average costs are turned on).
